IONX has achieved a significant milestone with the successful commissioning of its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Stables Shopping Center in Cape Town. Overview
The Stables Shopping Center project features a 1075kWh energy storage system comprised of five clusters of IONX 215kWh batteries. Built with IONX’s signature True 3-Tier Management System, the BESS integrates seamlessly with the client’s Energy Management System (EMS) for optimal energy utilization.
The system’s key functionality, energy arbitrage, enables significant cost savings by storing power during off-peak hours and discharging during peak times. Additionally, its future-proof design allows for easy reconfiguration to provide backup power, ensuring uninterrupted operations during potential load shedding.
